The ACM Stud was founded in july 1995 by Antonio Correia de Mendonça, son-in- law of the actual owner, returning to a family tradition of animal Breeding.
At the begining they were used a group of Visconde dos Olivais (VO) broodmares, all of them gold medal winners at Santarem Nacional Agricultural Fair in the end of the 80’s.
The first stallions used were, Hipus (VO) and Jaguar (FBC), descendants of Danubio, from M. Veiga stud that was the “Champion of Champions” at the APSL Festival, Lisbon 1988.
Afherwards they were used as stallions two horses from Manuel Assunção Coimbra stud (MAC)
- Justiceiro (MAC) – a son of Distinto (MAC) x Xareta (MAC) by Quimono (AA)
In 2003 and 2004:
- Liso (MAC) also a son of Distinto (MAC) x Estrela (MAC) by Zelador (MAC).
Liso is Zimbro’s father, Zimbro riden by Julia Pierce was the Champion of the Canadian National Eastern Region Dressage Competition (grand prix level) at Otawa September 2015.
From 2005 to 2009, it was used on our mares , with excelent results , the Stallion from Pedro Passanha stud Tixaquir, a son of the Merith Lusitano Stallion Xaquiro from Quina stud.
In July 2009 it was acquired to be the new stud Stallion Aladino D’Atela (from Bessa de Carvalho stud).
Aladino is a grand-son of Soberano III (Borba stud) the Champion of Champions in the International horse fair at Golegã 2002 and 2003.
Our purpose is to cross these two blood lines to creat animals that are morphologicaly pure Lusitano horses, with execelent character, robusts and with excelent gaits whose funcionality permits being used in a variety of modalities with a special focus on dressage.
In 2013 it was used from the first time a Stallion from our stud – Destino dos Pardinhos- a son of Tixaquir that has highlighted in Portugal Dressage Cup at 2013, 2014 and 2015.
